This year PG&E announced it exceeded California's Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS) goal requiring energy providers to deliver 33 percent renewable energy by the end of 2020. In fact, more than 88 percent of the electricity PG&E provided to customers last year cam from greenhouse gas (GHG)-free resources. PG&E's concern about the environment and sustainability also extends to its suppliers. Last year PG&E worked with the Electric Utility Industry Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance to analyze the source of the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the company's suppliers. The analysis showed more than 60 percent of these emissions come from construction services, vegetation management and materials manufacuing. READ THE FULL ARTICLE
