2020….What a year, one we will not forget. 2020 brought to us many challenges we never thought we would encounter, but these same challenges also demonstrated how we can adapt, turn negatives into positives and continue to deliver the services we provide in a safe and effective manner. These attributes were demonstrated in the work of the Alliance this year as we continue to watch our members improve in their sustainability journey. We communicated and shared more than ever, addressing immediate challenges around COVID while also advancing our long-term sustainability agenda through new tools, resources and outputs. In September we held a successful, two-day virtual conference, including an interactive Supplier Showcase experience. The conference received high marks for content and networking. As we look ahead, we know the transition in our industry will continue to be significant, full of opportunities and fraught with challenges. However, if we have learned anything as utilities, teams, individuals and the Alliance in 2020 it is that we are up to the task whatever it may be. As my current tenure as Chair comes to a close, I’d like to thank my Executive Committee again for their tremendous support and guidance to the Alliance in 2020. Together we have laid out an exciting 2023 strategy and 2021 roadmap. I’m excited to turn my role over to John Lindley, Vice President, Chief Supply Officer with Entergy, who will be the Chair in 2021. I thank you for allowing me to serve as Chair and I look forward to remaining involved as Immediate Past Chair. Stay safe and well, Tony Tomczak
