Our 2019 annual EUISSCA Supplier Sourcing Conference, held in Scottsdale, Arizona, was a huge success, with our highest attendance yet of 224 people and over 25 Showcase Suppliers presenting their products and services. The event was charged with forward thinking, innovative ideas and plenty of networking opportunities for all those who attended. Morgan Scott, Senior Sustainability Project Manager at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), kicked off the Conference with her keynote address on the top five sustainability trends in the electric power industry. She brought some valuable insight to our attendees about the importance of having a sustainable supply chain to enable a more sustainable economy for the electric power industry. Throughout the event we also heard from both our utility members and supplier affiliate members on panel discussions on Cost Savings case studies, as well as how to use the results of The Sustainability Project (TSP), our annual Supplier Survey. Breakout Sessions later in the afternoon focused on furthering our discussions around SF6 alternatives, Investor views of Sustainability, our new Utility Member roundtable on Social Aspects of Sustainability, and another opportunity to learn more about how to respond to and leverage the TSP platform. We closed the day with our Supplier Successful Rapid Fire Session that we brought back by popular demand for a second year in a row, closing the conference by celebrating nine suppliers who shared successful sustainability practices from their organizations. We are also pleased to announce that at the close of the Conference we reached our Alliance 2020 goal to have 75 Supplier Affiliate Members (SAMs) one year early, securing 78 SAMs by the close of the week. Our main goal of this membership is to create closer collaboration between electric utility industry leaders who are addressing the challenges of creating a cleaner, more efficient and more sustainable supply chain, with their suppliers. More information on the SAM program – including how to register for 2020 – is available here. We are very excited to see where the momentum from the Supplier Affiliate Membership and various Alliance initiatives will take us and we look forward to providing an update at our Conference next year.
